Color Climax Corporation (CCC) was established in 1967 in Copenhagen by the Theander brothers, capitalizing on Denmark's progressive pornography law reforms, which effectively legalized adult content. The company quickly established itself as a leader in the newly legitimized industry, setting standards for production, distribution, and innovation in adult entertainment.

The company’s first magazine, Color Climax, became its flagship publication and gained widespread popularity across Europe. Known for its explicit content, high-quality photography, and boundary-pushing themes, it was regarded as one of the most influential adult magazines of its era.
