KLIMAKS is the very first magazine published by the Theander brothers—the starting point of what would later become the legendary Color Climax series.
Released in 1968, when pornography was still illegal in Denmark, this black-and-white magazine was sold discreetly under the counter at Rådhusantikvariatet in Copenhagen. To evade police attention, it was published under the fictitious name “Bengt Olsson”, with intentionally misleading publisher details on the back cover.
Printed in approximately 10,000 copies, KLIMAKS sold out quickly and proved there was a strong market—paving the way for one of the most iconic adult magazine lines in history.
